The Las Vegas Advisor did a study of Nickel slots at various Las Vegas casinos and calculated the following payout ratios. A payout ratio of 90% means that for every dollar put into the machine, the machine gives out $0.90 in winnings and the casino keeps $0.10. Therefore, the higher the payout ratio, the better. As can be expected, most of the better payout ratios are downtown, while the worst payout ratios are on the strip.
